All workers in the Industrial Revolution were probably facing some overwhelming responsibilities but women probably faced some of the worst. During this period in time women had jobs, children, and a house to take care of. With the ways employers treated their workers during the Industrial Revolution, women especially, they probably had around 12-15 hour work days, then they came home to their children which they had to take care of, and household chores to do. Many of these women crumpled under the stress as even pregnant soon to be mother were expected to work as well. Many of the responsibilities women took on as well were things that men should have been doing, but since husbands often left to work, wives were left with the responsibilities of herself, and her husband, making life extremely difficult for women.
